Which marathon in Europe is the right fit for you in 2020?

Some of the most spectacular sceneries that you can experience can be found running around the European countryside. Regardless if you are a newbie or a seasoned running veteran, there is the perfect event waiting for you.

If you want to run on a fast and flat course, Wizz Air Skopje Marathon and Malaga Marathon would be great choices.

ASICS Stockholm Marathon and Generali München Marathon would be for you if you want to run in a beautiful city with runners from all over the world and finish in a famous stadium. Thousands of spectators will cheer you up along the route.

If you are a history buff, the Athens Marathon, born over 2500 years ago, is the perfect nostalgic run to participate, just to say you did. For the adventurer, the Brixen Dolomiten Marathon has you racing to a spectacular 360° panoramic view on top of the mountain, or the Plitvice Lakes Marathon will have you experiencing the bluest waters on earth. Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon would be also great if you want to discover the beautiful coast and salt lakes of Cyprus.

If you are a thrill seeker and wanting a party atmosphere for your marathon experience, then the Dam tot Dam Loop is the perfect place to be. A festival atmosphere, you can also participate in the night run the eve before the official marathon.

Most of the pre-run event is done in the dark through the city streets. For someone who is looking for the challenging conditions of the European winter, the Marathon de Funchal is the perfect fast and flat race to partake in.nbHeld in at the end of January, if you can make it twice around the coastline without freezing, you will be in an elite class of runners worldwide. Whatever it is that you are looking for in a marathon can be found in Europe. Choose your destination and get those shoes strapped on today!

If you are not ready for a full marathon yet, you should check out Half Marathons in Europe.
