Remembrance Day, colloquially known as Poppy Day due to the tradition of wearing remembrance poppies, is commemorated in Commonwealth member states since the conclusion of the First World War to honor the armed forces members who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The event features a half marathon, 10km, 5km, and a 1-mile race, all set against the backdrop of a traffic-free course on the flat and swift concrete grounds of a disused former World War 2 airfield.
Scheduled for Remembrance weekend in November, the occasion will be accompanied by music along the course to inspire and motivate participants.
For children under the age of eight, a separate ticket is required, and they must be accompanied by a paying adult. The ticket can be for any distance in the event.
