Portugal's largest and most dazzling granfondo returns to Peso da Régua, once again inviting cyclists to embark on an unforgettable adventure. The route passes through the municipalities of Sabrosa, Alijó, Carrazeda de Ansiães, São João da Pesqueira, Tabuaço, and Armamar, extending across the districts of Vila Real, Bragança, and Viseu.
This major challenge blends the breathtaking landscapes of the Alto Douro Wine Region with the joy of cycling through an environment that offers moments of serenity and harmony. Each participant will find their own rhythm on this journey, with routes and distances set in advance. The granfondo stretches over 151 km, the mediofondo covers 114 km of excitement, and the minifondo offers a 60 km adventure reminiscent of the event’s original spirit.
The climbs to Favaios, Parambos, São João da Pesqueira, and Tabuaço mark the highlights of the granfondo’s “queen” distance. Yet it’s the return to the thorny Muro do Cadão (3.1 km at 10.2%) that will truly test each cyclist’s endurance. The challenge eases during the São Mamede de Riba Tua and Linhares descents, which precede crossings of the Tua and Valeira dams. As riders near the finish line, the descent from Tabuaço to the mouth of the Tedo River offers sweeping views of the Douro Valley.
Minifondo participants will encounter this scenic descent as their main challenge, climbing through Barcos on the left bank of the Tedo and descending on the right. The mediofondo shares the route with the granfondo up to Favaios before turning toward Sanfins do Douro, passing through Sabrosa and Provesende to reach Pinhão and then on to Tabuaço.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
On May 9th between 10am and 7:30pm On May 10th from 7am to 8:30am It is located on Av. do Douro in the Douro Rio Café car park next to the departure point.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
After April 27th, changes of registration ownership or change to another Granfondo organized by Bikeservice are permitted upon payment of administrative fees of €5.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
After payment has been made, in case of withdrawal up until April 10, 2026, the participant can recover 50% of the registration fee. After this date, registration is considered final.
