Join Madeira Swimrun
Since 2017, the island of Madeira, also known as the "Pearl of the Atlantic," has been a recurring destination for our annual Madeira Swimrun event. Its unique geographical location and mountainous terrain provide the island with a pleasant climate, with average temperatures ranging from 25°C in the summer to 17°C in the winter, along with moderate humidity. The influence of the warm Gulf of Mexico current also makes the sea water very temperate, with averages of 22°C in the summer and 18°C in the winter, making it ideal for adventure and nature sports all year round.
Undoubtedly, this event in Swimrun mode is one of the most exciting challenges. The route begins with participants being dropped off by sea near Ponta de São Lourenço, a picturesque spot and one of the island's main attractions. From there, they continue through Caniçal towards the city of Machico, traversing challenging trails, such as the ascent of Pico do Facho, and facing the rough sea conditions during the Prainha and Ribeira do Natal crossings.
The local organization of this stage is led by the Ludens Machico club, with the support of the Regional Triathlon Association of Madeira. From the beginning, they recognized.
