The option for the month of July has to do with our inspirations. To be at the level of one of the most extreme events in the world, we need a very important external factor: heat. At Badwater the heat easily reaches 60 degrees in California's Death Valley. On the BR135+ the temperatures can at any time have a percentage of humidity in the air of 95%. On the PT 281+ Ultramarathon Portugal we will be between the two.

During the month of July, in the places where the test passes, the thermometers easily exceed 40º, in addition to being a dry, suffocating, burning heat. This is a factor that easily puts the PT 281+ Ultramarathon Portugal in a level of extreme difficulty.

There are 281km of pure adventure and beauty.

Course highlights
– The routes of PT281® Ultramarathons are mostly made up of paths, trails, unpaved forest roads and large stretches of asphalt. The routes use public roads, whether on or off-road, cross villages and towns and use utility accesses that pass through private properties. The routes will not be closed for the events, so participants must take into account the fact that there may be vehicles, people and animals moving in one direction or another.
– The race routes cross some roads and sometimes cross them perpendicularly. The crossing must receive maximum attention from participants.
– There will be no interruption in road traffic, participants must comply with traffic rules in cities and public roads, as well as respect agricultural areas and private properties, under penalty of having to assume possible damages and compensation resulting from non-compliance.
– There will be places on the routes where there may be gates or gates that participants will have to open and close. Whenever a participant comes across a closed gate or gate, they must leave it as they found it, i.e. closed.
– The route must be covered semi-autonomously and guided by GPS. This means that the route will not be marked.
- The organization will make available the tracks of the race routes for GPS, when sending the Participant Guide.
– The participant can leave the race route whenever they want, without suffering any punishment, whenever they return to it at the same point where they left it.
