The Santa Maria Trail - SMAT is a Trail Running event, organized by the Trail Running Section of Casa do Povo de São Pedro, which runs through the most emblematic trails of the island of Santa Maria in the Azores, framed in the aspects of Trail Ultra - SMAT 55 (approximately 55 km and D+ 3000), Long Trail - SMAT 35 (approximately 35 km and D+ 1820), Short Trail - SMAT 20 (approximately 20 km and D+ 1100) and Mini Trail - SMAT 10 (approximately 10 km and D+ 500).
The 2024 edition will take place on the 25th of May and its main crossing points will be the emblematic bays of Praia Formosa, Maia, São Lourenço and Anjos, as well as the Geosites of Ilha do Barreiro das Piedades, Ribeira do Maloás (Calçada dos Gigantes) and Barreiro da Faneca.
Limited to 400 places.
