The Santa Maria Trail is a high-impact trail running experience set on the wild and beautiful Azorean island of Santa Maria. Limited to just 400 participants, this exclusive event features four distances—Ultra (55 km), Long, Short, and Mini Trail—each showcasing the island’s most dramatic natural landmarks and rewarding runners with up to 3,000 meters of elevation gain. This event is a journey through volcanic landscapes, coastal cliffs, lush green valleys, and remote trails that wind past some of the island's most iconic spots. Runners will traverse Praia Formosa, Maia, São Lourenço, and Anjos bays, and encounter extraordinary geosites such as Ilha do Barreiro das Piedades, Ribeira do Maloás (Calçada dos Gigantes), and the red desert of Barreiro da Faneca.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Bib collection will be at SPORTZONE gallery in Vila do Porto on 16 may, 2025.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Refund requests will be considered only when a participant is proven to be unable to take the test due to an accident or illness diagnosed after registration. To request cancellation, participants must email the request along with a medical certificate. Upon cancellation, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded. Please note that cancellations via telephone will not be accepted. If you wish to transfer your registration to the 2027 edition, an additional fee will apply.
