The Sunshine Coast Marathon & Community Run Festival is a member of the Association of International Marathons & Road Races (AIMS) and is one of the most-loved running festivals in Australia. Since its inception, the Sunshine Coast Marathon has raised over $1.6 million for charity and community groups.
Located on the stunning Sunshine Coast, Queensland an hour's drive north of Brisbane this event has been timed to make the most of the ideal Queensland winter running conditions. Blue skies, low humidity and mild temperatures combined with a flat course always enable fast times.
Event distances include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km and the 2km. Each road race follows the stunning coastline of Alexandra Headland with white sandy beaches and spectacular vantage points alongside the ocean. The Half Marathon is a one-loop course with Marathon entrants completing a multi-loop course (1 x 21km + 2 x 10.5km's) making the most of the on-course entertainment and crowds of spectators before a red carpet 'hero' finish.
With a distance to suit every ability and age group, this community-focused, world-class athletic event caters to all those wanting to take part, including families and those with both physical and intellectual disabilities.
The 2km event allows parents with prams and wheelchair entrants to take part and enjoy the festival atmosphere. Race start times are scheduled to allow for parents to run the longer distances and then return in time to run with the kids and enjoy all the free fun in the family entertainment precinct.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?

Can someone collect my race pack for me?
You can have someone collect you bib on your behalf with a copy of your registration confirmation email. Strictly no bib collections on race day.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Transfers of distance will be subject to the availability of races.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Where eligible, the following refund fees are applicable for cancellations, depending on when the request is received. Refund of 50% up to 5pm, 26 May 2025 Refund of 25% up to 5pm, 23 June 2025 No Refunds after 5pm, 23 June 2025 Please note there is no ability to transfer to another event.
Can I run with headphones?
Yes you are welcome to run with headphones, but please be mindful of volunteers, police and ambulance, and other runners.
Can I run with a pram?
Yes – you are welcome to run with a pram in any of the distances, however, we please ask out of courtesy to other runners to please start at the back.
How do I get my pre-purchased Merchandise?
All pre-purchased merchandise will be available for collection from the Atlas Events' Merchandise Store at the times below: Thursday 31 July 2025, 3:00pm-7:00pm (collect from the Event Merchandise store not Registration) Friday 1 August 2025, 10:00am-5:00pm (collect from the Event Merchandise store not Registration) Saturday 2 August 2025, 9:00am-4:00pm (collect from the Event Merchandise store not Registration) Sunday 3 August 2025, 6:30am-12:30pm (collect from the Event Merchandise store not Registration) Merchandise must be collected at the event. No merchandise will be mailed out prior to or after race day.
