The Thessaloniki Night Half Marathon is a popular annual running event held in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece. Participants run a half marathon distance of 21.0975 kilometers through the streets of Thessaloniki at night, which creates a unique and exciting atmosphere. The event typically takes place in the fall, and attracts both local and international runners of all levels.
The Thessaloniki Night Half Marathon is organized by "MEAS TRITON" with the support of the city of Thessaloniki and many other sponsors as presented on their official website. In addition to the half marathon, there are also shorter races available for those who prefer a shorter distance, including a 5K race and a 10K race.
The event is known for its festive atmosphere, with live music and entertainment along the course, as well as a post-race party with food and drinks for all participants. Course details
Half Marathon:
The starting point of the Road is located on Nikis Avenue at the height of Eleutherias Square. The Half Marathon route follows Nikis Avenue, October 30th, Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, reversal 180◦ at the height of Georgiou Papandreou, Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, turn right on the Tritis Septemvriou Str., turn left and enter Andronikou Str., Tsimiski Str., Polytechniou Str., turn 180◦ and entrance to Karatasou Str., which continues with Kountouriotou Str. and Nikis Avenue where the runners complete the first turn. The runners traveling this route twice finish moving on Nikis Avenue in front of the Statue of Alexander the Great.
10 Km ROAD RACE
The race starts at the Nikis Avenue at the height of the White Tower. The 10.000m. route follows the streets: October 30th, Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, 180-degree turn about at Georgiou Papandreou Avenue, Megalou Alexandrou Avenue, right turn in Tritis Septemvriou Str., left turn and entrance to Adronikou Str., Tsimiski Str., Politechniou Str., 180-degree turn and entrance to Karatasou Str. and Kountouriotou Str. The participants finish at the Statue of Alexander the Great (Nikis Av.).
5 Km ROAD RACE
The race starts at the City Hall of Thessaloniki (streets involved: Vasileos Georgiou and Tritis Septemvriou). The 5.000m. route follows the streets: Vasileos Georgiou Avenue, Andronikou, Tsimiski, Politechniou, Karatasou, Kountouriotou Avenue, Nikis Avenue, where the participants finish in front of the White Tower (the whole route runs in parallel with the Halfmarathon route, having the same finish, at the Statue of Alexander the Great (Nikis Av.).
