The inaugural Rumble in the Jungle 8K Peace Run, marking the 50th anniversary of Muhammad Ali's victory, aims to honor his legacy while promoting peace, unity, and cultural richness in Kinshasa. Attracting thousands of local and international runners for peace and justice, the 8K distance symbolizes Ali's triumph in the 8th round.
The RJ50 8K Peace Run is scheduled for Sunday, October 27th, 2024, kicking off the official festivities in Kinshasa, DRC. Preceding the run, on Saturday, October 26th, participants can enjoy a conference, screenings & photo exhibition and charity auction.
High-profile international guests including Rahaman Ali, Ali’s brother who attended the fight as part of Ali’s entourage, will grace the event.
The run will go through the city and end at the iconic Stadium Tata Raphaël where the fight took place 50 years ago, the run will be followed by a lively post-run party and community gathering honoring the Greatest of All Time. This event marks the beginning of an annual tradition, the RJ50 8K Peace Run, poised to captivate audiences worldwide year after year.
