Join Semi de Lushi
Semi de Lushi is organised by Congo River Marathon Events and happening for the 2nd time on the weekend of September 7-8, 2024 in the heart of the copper capital Lubumbashi. We aim to bring together over 1,000 participants from the DR Congo and other neighbor countries.
The event offers three different distance options on Sunday, September 8, allowing participants to choose between 5km, 10km, or 21km. As well a Kids & Family Fun Run of 1km on Saturday, September 7.
The festivities begin on September 7, 2024 with the Health & Fitness Expo, where participants can collect their race bibs and t-shirts. Additionally, that evening there will be a traditional Pasta Night for all participants to enjoy. The event concludes on September 8, 2024 with an awards ceremony and celebration, accompanied by refreshments, snacks, and music. Friends and family of the runners are encouraged to attend and support them.
One unique aspect of Semi de Lushi is the "Run for a good cause" program, which encourages participants to run and fundraise for selected charities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This initiative aims to make a positive impact on the community.
Our primary mission with this annual event is to empower the people of the DRC, with a particular focus on Lubumbashi, by promoting health, well-being, and tourism through running.
