The Bazaruto Run aims to raise funds for a much-needed solar-powered waterhole that will drastically improve living conditions in the nearby Pangaia community – a fast-growing community of 1,000 people where women and children routinely walk up to four kilometres to the nearest freshwater source.
Families can choose from easy three- and five-kilometre routes, while more experienced runners can opt for either a 10- or 21-kilometre intense trail. The scenic routes, which can be walked or run, were charted to showcase the island’s breathtaking scenery and exceptional biodiversity of The Bazaruto Archipelago National Park that protects unique ecological value and diverse coral reefs.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get to the race location?
On the race day, a complimentary boat shuttle from Vilankulo and Inhassoro will be provided for participants. It’s compulsory to book your transfer in advance, along with your registration form. Only the participants have booked their transfer will be allowed on the boat. • Vilankulos: Meeting point will be at Dona Ana hotel –Parking available (Fees will Apply) • Inhassoro: Meeting point will be at Rosshaseafood Lapa –Parking available (No Fees)
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
Cancellations and changing personal data requests by participants, may be accepted only after written notification is received by the Organizing Committee before 6 September 2023. After that date no cancellation and/or changing data requests will be accepted. In case of confirmed cancellation, the registration fee will be refunded to the applicant, after deduction of 100 MZN or USD 5 for operational handling costs. All refund requests will be processed approximately one month after the event.
