Set on the enchanting island of Malta, this event brings history to life. With a past spanning 7,000 years, Malta is an open-air museum, filled with tales of ancient empires, monumental temples, and steadfast fortifications.
A significant chapter in Malta's legacy is Grand Master Jean de La Valette, dubbed "The Shield of Europe." In 1565, he courageously defended Malta during the Great Siege—a turning point in European history. The marathon, named in his honor, finishes at the historic fortifications that withstood the test of time.
The all-coastal route is Malta's only AIMS-certified full and half marathon course and an Abbott World Major Qualifier.

What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
The participation fee is non-refundable. If an athlete is unable to take part in the event, he/she may, subject to notification to be sent to the Organisers no later than 09/03/2026, transfer the registration to another person or transfer the registration to another year.
