Run in the Pcific Breeze under Mt. Fuji

~Experience “Run Japan” -One Race, A Thousand Memories~

Shonan is the beautiful coastline area an hour south of Tokyo by train. The marathon starts and finishes in the historic aristocratic resort town of Oiso and runs along world-class beaches with spectacular views of Mt. Fuji. Some of Japan’s most popular sightseeing spots like Kamakura and the hot spring town of Hakone are just minutes away.

The Shonan International Marathon is the world’s first major marathon to achieve zero waste from paper cups and plastic bottles at drink stations along the course. At our 2023 race we reduced the event’s waste by 8446 kg, an initiative that got almost unanimous support from runners who loved both the experience of running on a clean course with no trash and knowing that they were helping to reduce the event’s environmental footprint.
