Course details
We begin our journey in the heart of the vibrant Coyoacán neighborhood, gathering at our hotel before setting off on an unforgettable Urban Sunset Run. This initial run through the southern neighborhoods of Mexico City serves as a perfect introduction, helping us acclimate to the city’s altitude.
Day 2: Visit to the Xochimilco Floating Gardens - Ciudad Universitaria 8 km run
We rise early for a day trip to Xochimilco, or “where the flowers grow.” A trajinera boat ride will take us through intricate canals to the chinampas—traditional farming lake beds—where we’ll indulge in a unique yoga and meditation session overlooking the lake and farming ranges. A delicious farm-to-table brunch courtesy of our local hosts follows. Later in the afternoon, we’ll embark on an 8 km running adventure across the expansive campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), ending our day with a fabulous dinner in the charming Coyoacán borough.
Day 3: Paso de Cortés 18 km High Altitude Run - Temazcal Sweat Lodge Ceremony
Today, we embark on an exhilarating 18 km high-altitude run through the stunning landscapes of Paso de Cortés. Starting at the secondary summit of Iztaccíhuatl volcano, standing at 4,300 meters, we’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of Popocatépetl and the expansive valleys of Puebla-Tlaxcala and Mexico. We’ll navigate rocky and sandy terrain, pausing to refuel with delicious quesadillas at the volcanoes’ base. Back in Mexico City, we will wrap up the day with a traditional Temazcal sweat lodge ceremony. This ancient ritual promises to connect us deeply with the region’s cultural and spiritual essence.
Day 4: 7 km Sightseeing run - Park Yoga Session - Farewell breakfast
Before the city awakens, we’ll embark on a peaceful 7 km run through the lush Viveros de Coyoacán, one of the great lungs of Mexico City. As we reach our tranquil spot in the park, we’ll center ourselves with a revitalizing yoga session, finding serenity amidst the city’s hum. With the morning sun shining, we’ll gather for a heartfelt farewell breakfast in Coyoacán. Afterward, take your time to linger and depart at your own pace, cherishing our final moments together.
