The Half Marathon on the Hong Kong Section of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) is a groundbreaking sports event that aims to become a celebrated fixture in Hong Kong. Organized by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates (HKAAA), the event intends to attract top athletes from East Asia, who will compete against local Hong Kong runners in a quest for greatness.
Spanning an impressive 55 kilometers, the HZMB holds the notable distinction of being the world's longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing. Linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao, it serves as a significant gateway to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area). The HZMB has transformed major cities in the Pearl River Delta into easily accessible destinations, with a mere three-hour commute from Hong Kong. Moreover, situated on the Lingdingyang channel within the picturesque Pearl River Estuary, the bridge provides a breathtaking backdrop for the race.
