Course highlights
This course has a loop of about 5.25km followed by another loop of 4.75km. This is a relatively fast route, having just 42m elevation gain. The course starts and finishes in the Old runway of Ta' Qali which was used during the second world war and for some years after. The old runway is situated within the Ta' Qali National Park. From the start, the route passes through Triq San Gakbu, passing by the veterinary hospital and turns into the old runway on reaching the model aircraft runway national stadium. From there, the route passes through the BOV Adventure park service road. On exiting, the route once again passes through Triq San Gakbu and by the veterinary hospital, this time passing by the model aircraft runway to keep on going to the national stadium. On reaching the old runway the route turns to the right to pass by the start area at about 5.25Km. From this point the route passes from in front of the American Embassy, through Vjal L-Istadium Nazzjonali and onto Triq L-Imdina. The route heads down towards Attard to turn into Triq Dun Mikiel Xerri followed by Triq Dun Gwann Theuma, Triq il-Gibjun and Triq Il-Pitkali to reach Ta' Qali National Park. The route then heads towards the BOV Adventure park and on reaching the old runway, the route turns left to head to the finish.
