Renewed Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon to start from Atomium


On Sunday 4th October, the 17th edition of the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon will follow a completely new course. The start underneath the Atomium and finish on the track of the King Baudouin Stadium mean the marathon gets a new iconic home base. Furthermore, the Brussels Airport Marathon will qualify as the Belgian Championship marathon in 2020.

All the details about the course and the exact time schedule will be announced in a couple of weeks' time. In addition to the marathon, the programme for Sunday 4th October also features the renewed Brussels Airport Half Marathon and some shorter distances. The youngest runners can enjoy the Alpro Kids Run in the Parc de Laeken.

Practicalities

Aid Stations

Personal Drinks: You can hand in your personal drinks between 7 and 8 a.m. Our volunteers will distribute the drinks over the 8 different refreshment stations.

Award Medals

Every participant receives a unique souvenir medal at the finish, but for 6.5 € you can get a classy medal engraving!

Equipment Storage

Starting at 7.00 a.m. you can drop op of your bags at the sports bags storage tent. When you hand in your sports bags, a sticker with a number will be stuck on your race number. The same numbered sticker will be placed on your sports bag. After the run you can only get your bag back upon showing your race number with this sticker. Bags can be picked up up until 3 PM.Heated changing rooms will be provided inside Autoworld

Maximum Time

The time limit for the Brussels Marathon is 5 hours. By order of the police the roads will be opened for traffic based on this pace. Those who run more slowly will be asked to stop their race or continue running at their own risk, without the roads being cordoned off. The finish closes at 2.15 p.m.

SPORTOGRAF.COM is the official photo service of the Brussels Marathon. These photographers have acquired a good reputation in recent years with their fully digital service and competitive prizes. In view of the fact that they themselves are active runners, they have an outstanding feeling from the perspective of the participant.

The race passes through many of the greener parts of the city as well as the woods and out to the beautiful Africa Museum before pointing runners back to the city.

The marathon makes a loop, starting and ending in the City of Brussels, in the proximity of Brussels Park. Initially the runners head eastwards, to Tervuren.
