Liechtenstein is a small German-speaking land situated in between Switzerland and Austria. Only encompassing a territory of 25km long, it is famous for its medieval castles, quaint villages and forested landscape that are all strewn together by a network comprised of little trails. A lesser known nation, if you are looking for your next destination run, Liechtenstein might be a perfect hidden treasure.
Surrounded by hilly terrain, Liechtenstein is perfect for the trail runner. And being that most of the events have lesser participation numbers, it is a wonderful marathon destination for newbies looking to get their running feet wet to seasoned marathoners trying to beat their personal best.
There might not be many events to choose from, but deciding to put a Liechtenstein marathon on your bucket list is definitely something you won't regret!

Although there is only one official event to participate in, a Liechtenstein Marathon 2025 event is a perfect choice for your next destination run. Vast countryside stretches between tiny villages that are frozen from modernity. Cover nearly the entire country from end to end racing the LGT Alpin-Marathon.
Racing over the mountain on a clear day, you will get glimpses of the Princely Castle, as well as beautiful mountain views abound. The race is a combination between flat and fast and hilly terrain, so it has something for every skill level.
Since the LGT Alpin-Marathon race fills up quickly, and accommodations do too, now is the time to pre-register for this amazing event, commit, and start training!
