About Zwolse Halve Marathon

The most pleasant run of the Netherlands takes place. Together with 8.500 athletes you can run through the historic town centre of Zwolle as the sun sets in the sky. From high school students and world-renowned athletes, recreationists and the seasoned runners, in Zwolle everybody is welcome to join!

Tens of thousands enthusiastic supporters will cheer you to the finish line. At the entire track there will be music performances by bands, DJs and marching bands. At the Grote Markt there will be a big celebration! Once you have finished you can celebrate with your friends and family at one of the many pleasant squares of Zwolle.

The Scania Zwolse Half Marathon has a run up of 2.6 km to the centre, where you will take 3 rounds of 6,2 km to get acquainted with our town centre!

The entire course runs through a scenic historical town of  Zwolle ,  on Koggelaan and goes through the Karnebeek of (coach) tunnel to a course of three rounds in the city. The finish is on the Grote Markt .

The Half Marathon starts at 20.15 on Koggelaan and goes through the Karnebeek of (coach) tunnel to a course of three rounds in the city. The finish is on the Grote Markt and closes at 23:00.


Zwolse Halve Marathon Trivia

The race was first held in 2001 and attracts both amateur and professional runners. Over 3000 people took part in the 2008 edition of the race. Jason Mbote of Kenya is a four time-winner of the race and his partner Flomena Chepchirchir has three victories on the women's side. The course records were both set by Kenyans in 2011: Wilson Kipsang won the men's race in 60:49 minutes while Chepchirchir won her third title in a women's best of 1:08:22 hours.
