Wineglass Marathon
Join Wineglass Marathon
Named a top destination and must-do marathon by Livestrong, Active Times, and others, the Wineglass course is a fast, flat, and scenic point-to-point course through the scenic southern Finger Lakes, and a Boston Marathon qualifier race. With a start in Bath and finish on Historic Market Street in Corning, the marathon field will host close to 3,000 runners.
The Annual Wineglass Marathon, one of the more popular and fastest-growing marathons in the Northeast U.S., takes place in the Finger Lakes Region on the first Sunday in October. Each year, more and more runners travel from all over the US and Canada, and from around the world to America’s “Crystal City”. Runners come for a variety of reasons (which can include the 1st time marathoner just looking to finish, marathon veteran adding to their list of races completed or states in which they have run a marathon, runners looking for personal bests and/or qualifying times for races such as the Boston Marathon, and runners coming with groups or on the recommendation of friends), not least of which includes the local area attractions and natural beauty plus typically great weather (for running) in the autumn season along with an unmatchable display of community spirit and support.
As a point-to-point course, and due to safety requirements, ALL runners must take a bus to the start of both the Full and Half Marathons. When registering, runners will need to choose whether they will take the bus from Bath or Corning on race morning. Bath is the start of the Full Marathon. Corning is the finish line. The distance by bus to the Half Marathon start line is the same from either Bath or Corning. This information helps us plan for the number of buses needed at each location. Buses will return runners to the Bath bus pick up location at regular intervals after the race.
