Join Wendover Woods 50
Wendover Woods is an area of woodland on the north edge of the Chiltern Hills in England. Named after the nearby town of Wendover, the woods are owned by the Forestry Commission. Covering 325 ha (800 acres), the woods are a mixture of coniferous and broadleaved trees, and is host to the annual Wendover Woods 50. There are views of the countryside in the Aylesbury Vale to the north, and a stone monument marking the highest point of the Chilterns which lies within the woods on Haddington Hill.
The Wendover Woods 50 is a 50 mile foot race consisting of 5×5 mile loops on forest trails, entirely within Wendover Woods. The course mixes some of the most enjoyable trail running to be found anywhere, with wide, soft trails including smooth descents and runnable climbs. These sections are contrasted with some much steeper ascents and descents scattered throughout the loop.

The Start and Finish of the Wendover Woods 50 is in 'Trig Point Field', Aston Hill. The race route consists of 5 x 10 mile loops on forest trails and tracks within Wendover Woods, woodland operated by the Forestry Commission.
There are various options for accomodation in Wendover including a Premier Inn.
Free On Site Parking, Toilets, Water, Pop-Up Centurion Running Store, Free Hot Food and Drinks (Runners only and includes vegetarian options).
The start/ finish location also acts as the aid station at the start/ end of each loop. Runners will make 4 visits there before finishing at the end of their 5th loop. The aid stations are well stocked with fluids and a variety of foods. The fluids that are generally available are Water and Coke. The foods that are generally available are fruit, cookies, chocolate bars, jelly babies, crisps, nuts, a limited number of Gu energy gel packets, sandwiches, wraps etc. There will be hot food at the finish.
All finishers under the 15 hour cut off will receive a medal and technical finishers t-shirt. Male and Female Race winners will be awarded additional prizes marking their achievement.
Drop/ Finish Line Bags may be deposited at registration, whereupon they will be stored in number order in a separate tent and accessible to runners at the end of each 10 mile loop. Bags should be clearly labelled with runners name and bib number.

In order to start you must have completed a minimum of a marathon distance race within the cut off time of that event between 1st January 2013 and 31st October 2016.
