We are thrilled to announce that we will be organizing an Ultra event, which may be much needed after indulging in all the food and wine over the Christmas and New Year period. To add a little excitement, we have made a slight change to the rules for this launch.
We have decided to award medals to anyone who manages to complete the challenging 32-mile distance, earning them the title of ULTRA. Furthermore, the last man and woman standing will receive prestigious TROPHIES as the winners of the event.
Located just outside Crickhowell, deep within the majestic Black Mountains, our route will consist of a mix of trail and tarmac, with an equal split of 50/50. The course features just one gradual climb and a short, steep section, while the remainder offers mostly flat terrain, allowing for speedy running.
Regardless of whether you choose to run 20, 30, or even 100+ miles, everyone will be well taken care of, with hot food and beverages provided to keep you energized throughout the race.
Here are the rules :
We have a 4.167 mile loop
1/ Starting Corral
Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell
2/ Starts
. Each loop starts precisely 1 hour after the last
. They will be given 3, 2, and 1 minutes prior to start
. All competitors must start at the bell (no late starts)
3/ Loops
. Except for restrooms, competitors may not leave the course until each loop is completed
. No non-competitors on the course (including eliminated runners)
. No personal aid during a loop (common aid stations are allowed) one will be at HQ
. Each loop must be completed within an hour to be counted… including the final lap.
. No artificial aids (including trekking poles)
. Slower runners must allow passes.
5/ Timing
. Timing of the loops is optional - we will have timing
6/ Winner/Results
. The winner is the last person to complete a loop both Male & Female
. All others are technically DNF if they finish before 32 miles
. Results of each runner in terms of distance covered are to be given.
7/ Cap
. Race will be open ended.
