The 8th Novo Mesto Half Marathon will take place on October 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The event offers three official, IAAF-measured routes: 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km, all featuring a primarily flat terrain that takes participants through the scenic streets of Novo Mesto and along the green Krka river.
The Half Marathon course covers 21.1 km with a total elevation gain of just 102 meters, making it an ideal race for both competitive athletes and recreational runners. The 10 km route consists of two laps of the 5 km course, while the 5 km route shares the first 4 km with the Half Marathon runners, offering a great experience for shorter-distance participants.
All races will start simultaneously, creating an energetic and exciting atmosphere as runners of all levels come together to celebrate the spirit of the event.
Novo Mesto, the provincial capital of the Dolenjska region, is known for its rich archaeological heritage and beautiful natural surroundings. The race provides a unique opportunity to explore this historic city while running through its vibrant streets and scenic riverbanks.

Course details
The Half marathon course is predominantly flat with some gentle rolling sections, providing a fast and scenic route through the streets of Novo mesto and along the pictures river Krka. With only 102 meters of elevation gain, it offers a manageable challenge for both experienced runners and those aiming for a personal best.
10 KM ROUTE
The course is completely paved. Start of the 5 km and 10 km run begins with the half marathon runners, sharing the first 4 km of the half marathon route. The 10 km course consists of two laps of the 5 km loop, allowing participants to experience the same beautiful stretch of Novo mesto twice.
5 KM ROUTE
The new 5 km course starts and finishes on Seidlova cesta, alongside the half marathon and 10 km runners. For the first 4 km, the route follows the same path as the half marathon, allowing participants to enjoy the same beautiful scenery. After the 4 km mark, the course turns left onto Topliška cesta, heading towards the city center, and continues across the Šmihelski most bridge before making its way to the finish line.
This route is officially measured and certified by AIMS, ensuring its accuracy and precision.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?

Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes, with letter of prove or authorization letter.
Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Yes you can change your distance for smaller distance free of charge.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Until September 1st, 2025 a refund of the registration fee is possible, but an administrative fee of 8 euros will be charged. After 1.9. 2025, a refund of the registration fee is possible with a medical certificate, in which case an administrative fee of 10 euros will be charged. Refunds of application fees are possible until 15.9.2025! We do not refund registration fees due to non-participation!
Can I TRANSFER APPLICATION?
Transferring the registration fee to another person is free until 15th September. After this date, administrative costs of 5 euros will be charged. Changing the route is free of charge, if the distance is shorter. In case of a changing to a longer distance, small difference in price at registration will be charged.
Can I come with motorhome or camper van?
Yes. There is a PZA Camper stop very near the start of marathon. Look foor PZA Portoval in the google.
