Withlacoochee State Trail is a 46-mile (74 km) long paved, multi-use, non-motorized rail trail in Florida located in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties. It follows along the Withlacoochee River and passes through the Withlacoochee State Forest. It is the longest paved rail trail in Florida. This is also the venue of the annual Long Play Trail Race.
The course will start and finish on part of the Withlacoochee Trail, at Lake Townsend Regional Park. with the middle of the race taking place on single/double track trails of Withlacoochee State Forest. Lake Townsend has many amenities: running water, bathrooms, pavilions, a hose for rinsing off, electricity, and a lot of shaded parking. The park also has plenty to do for the entire family with basketball courts, baseball fields, volleyball, fishing pier, and playground. Lake Townsend Park has many park amenities and you will find it a great venue for a race.
