Join Land Between The Lakes Trail Runs

The tiny Village of Grand Rivers, KY (pop 323), located between beautiful Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley contains some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet, and two of the nicest resorts… Lighthouse Landing and Green Turtle Bay.

We began with a 23km and 60km in 2004. We didn’t know if even a handful of runners would attend when we opened registration. We hosted 94 that first year, and had a blast doing so. Now few years later, we entertain 800 runners from across America, Canada, and a few other countries.

Course highlights

The course starts down past the sailboats at Lighthouse Landing along the beautiful Kentucky Lake shoreline... one of the prettiest starting areas you'll experience. The first 1.9 miles are run on paved roads to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, where the trail begins. (This section should allow for separation of participants before entering the trail).

The Canal Loop trail (designated by blue markers on trees), is a scenic, well groomed 11.3 mile loop on mostly single-track between Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; offering many breathtaking views of the lakes, and several short challenging hills. (around 800' of gain/loop)

Depending upon the distance chosen, a runner will run 1 loop for the 23k, 2 loops for the Marathon, 3 loops for the 60k, or, for the 50 milers, 4 loops plus a short (.62 miles out and .62 miles back) on Kentucky Lake Scenic Drive before heading back via road to the finish line in Grand Rivers.
