Lovell Canyon Road
Spring Mountains N.R.A.
Toiyabe National Forest
The 50 miler runs along the paved Lovell Canyon Road as it twists and turns covering rolling terrain. Lovell Canyon Road is 11 miles in length. You will run the first 26.2 miles together with the marathoners and 50K runners: At mile 11 marathoners, 50K runners and 50 milers will turn around and run 2.1 miles out and back along the same paved road, before returning to this same aid station. You will turn around again and return the 11 paved miles back to the finish line (Aid station "Homebase" for 50K and 50 mile runners). You will then run all the way out 11 miles, back 11 miles, bringing you back to Aid station "Homebase" at your mile 48.08. You'll then have one short final out and back victory lap of 1.92 miles to complete the 50 mile distance. You will never be further than 5.5 miles to your own drop bag (3 locations available). No one climb is too long and for many reasons makes for a great first 50 miler, a possible PR at the distance, while offering a challenge to seasoned runners.
