Cornerstone Park Entertainment Plaza
The Jackpot course for the 48/24/12/6 hour, 100 mile and Marathon consists of a 2.38 mile loop with 80 feet of elevation ascend/descend per loop (4,000 feet for the 100 mile race). Run on a course that is 45% groomed crushed gravel trails, 50% wide asphalt paths, and just 5% bridge and concrete surfaces, the course is well suited for veteran runners wanting to PR, it is perfect for first time ultra runners. The race starts at the entertainment plaza and makes a horseshoe type loop around the lake with lots of social runner interactions.
There is a short out and back portion of the course, but importantly, the turn is a wide looping turn, as opposed to a speed-reducing 180 degree turn. Runners will be treated to two small picturesque bridge crossings every loop. The 80 feet of ascend during each 2.38 mile loop occurs gently, without any steep climbs. The Jackpot course is destined to become one of the fastest looped courses in the Southwest.
