About Griffith Park Trail Marathon

The Griffith Park Trail Marathon was created by Keira Henninger to give an opportunity for runners to accomplish running on trails longer than they ever imagined possible. This is a faster course with some solid good hills, and up to fourteen flat fast runnable miles. You will cross paths with every historical landmark that Griffith Park has to offer, and experience the magic of what this special place has to see.

Practicalities

After Race Services

All runners will get to enjoy an amazing yummy lunch provided by Whole Foods West Hollywood and Subway.

Aid Stations

Seven well stocked aid stations with sweet and salty snacks, fruit, PB&J's, Clif shot electrolyte drink and Clif gels, Salt Stick electrolyte caps, and crazy volunteers will be on hand to nourish your bodies and your spirits. Some aid stations will be stocked with ice. Bathrooms are available at certain aid stations.

Award Medals

Participants receive a medal and belt buckle for finishing Marathon.

Overview

This course starts and ends at the Park Center. Runners get the chance to run the challenging hills and trails of a piece of Hollywood history at the Griffith Park Trail Half Marathon, which takes runners on an out-and-back course through this park in the middle of one of the nation’s largest urban areas that’s played a role in countless movies and television shows. 


Griffith Park Trail Marathon Trivia

Griffith Park is one of the largest urban parks in North America. Commonly referred to as the Central Park of Los Angeles.

It’s also the home of the world-famous Hollywood sign that looks out from the mountains above Los Angeles onto the studios and Sunset Strip below.
