Join GotRun Trail Fest 2025
SWEATY. SUNNY. SPECTACULAR. #Run4Diabetes!
Winter. Dark. Cold. Nothing much to look forward to. Lack of motivation. Next race too far ahead. Quite depressing really.
BUT let's change this with an adventure in spectacular environment along the Gothic trail on eastern Gotland, where you (hopefully) will meet SPRING & run on nice green trails!
Following the success of the 1st editions of the race in Jan-2022, although with too fantastic weather (besides the heavy winds of 25m/s at night); in March-2023 with tons of mud; in March-2024 in perfect weather conditions (which also was SM in ultra trail), we - Run Raisers in cooperation with Wisby Ultralöparförening (WULF) - again invite you to an exclusive trail adventure on the island of Gotland.
Saturday March 29 the 4th edition of GotRun Trail Fest 2025 - takes place. An experience we'll do our best for you to remember. Hopefully the weather will be sunny, dry & windy so you feel the power of nature! However, there is rarely any ice & snow on the ground in Gotland in March, instead dry & nice terrain = possibly the BEST RUNNING CONDITIONSin Sweden this time of year!
Our ambition is to gather a great bunch of ultra runners (rookies of course also welcome) one weekend on the island to run together & chill our. Fantastic trails, food & drinks, all with a touch of Gotland. It will be interesting conversations & lots of shared experiences & tips. In addition all participants will get insights about the fascinating history of the east coast of Gotland, where you will follow the dramatic Gothic trail.
Obviously this is a race & winners will be celebrated & medals given, but the focus is not the actual race but the experience on Gotland in a season which you normally don't associate with Gotland.
We will all run the race for charity with the Swedish Child Diabetes Foundation Barndiabetesfonden as beneficiary;
part of the registration fee will be donated. The foundation supports research aimed at preventing, curing or alleviating diabetes in children & adolescents. 2024 we raised an incredible 40.188 SEK.
It really was great fun & an honor to host SM & VSM i traillöpning at "ENKLE" 50 miles 2024, where many came to run particularly this distance because it was the Swedish Championships. 2025 we look forward to welcoming many back, but certainly also induce debutants to experience our magical trail couse!
Base camp for the race is the cosy seaside resort Ljugarn at the east coast of Gotland.
The race is Saturday March 29 (Note! The distance "Dubble" 100 miles starts already Friday March 28) & the majority of the course follows Östkustleden & Torsburgenleden with an extra loop of great trail in the woods of Ljugarn. Östkustleden starts in Anga Prästänge & follow the shore line with varying surfaces - gravel, stones, asphalt, sand & forest trails. This trail is marked with orange signs on stones/trees/poles.
