MBNA Chester 10K
Join MBNA Chester 10K 2025
All abilities, ages and speeds are welcome in the award winning, sell-out MBNA Chester 10K. It's Chester's only city-based 10K, it's the best City Centre 10K in the North West and is the first event of the Chester Triple Series (enter and finish our 10K & Marathon or Metric Marathon in the same year for extra special, extra large and extra gold medal). Join us for what will be an amazing day.
The MBNA Chester 10K is a great introductory race for new runners and an ideal stepping stone for runners aiming for a half marathon in the future. The race will also host the England Athletics Age Group Masters 10K Championship adding to an already unforgettable atmosphere.
The event boasts a lively city centre start and finish, with a route that passes many of Chester's iconic landmarks. Runners will head north-west out of the City along wide roads allowing runners to rapidly settle into race pace, through the picturesque village of Mollington before returning to the heart of Chester for a spectacular finish on Eastgate Street with all the enthusiasm you could ask for from the Cestrian supporters, under a backdrop of the Eastgate Clock.
WHATEVER YOUR REASON FOR RUNNING, WE'RE HERE TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE GREATNESS

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
For those with a non-UK address your pack will be available for collection on the day before and race day from our help desk based at Chester Racecourse. For UK runners we will post out entries that are completed in time. Late entries will be able to collect their race numbers from Help Desk during race week.
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
If you decide you no longer want to take part and want to cancel your entry into the event, as per our terms and conditions your race place is non refundable and we do not offer deferrals. You can always transfer your race place to someone else, free of charge any time before the event. If we, as the event organiser, have to make the decision to postpone or cancel our event(s), you will automatically be deferred, to the next scheduled race date for that event.
Is there a cut-off time?
Chester 10K is a running event and for runners' safety the roads are closed by permission of the council. The race cut off time is 90 minutes after your race start. Roads will re-open in line with this pace. If you fall behind this pace, for your own safety you may be asked to withdraw from the race and get into the sweep bus. Times for runners who finish over the cut off will not be listed on the final results.
Can I wear an iPod or music player?
For the Chester 10K, in-ear headphones can be used. Please leave one out so you can hear the sounds around you, including warnings from marshals or blue light vehicles on the course. Therefore we recommend "open ear" bone conduction headphones for enjoyment and safety.
Can I run with a buggy or a dog?
No, it is not possible to run with a buggy, or with a dog. This is against UK Athletics rules and you will be withdrawn from the course and disqualified.
The race information has been found on the official website of the event or through publicly available sources. Always refer to the official website the latest race information. Please let us know if any data is wrong or missing, by emailing us.
