About Scottish Half Marathon & 10K

The Scottish Half Marathon is a road race over a measured distance of 13.1 miles. It is delivered under a permit from Scottish Athletics. The race will be refereed under the rules of Scottish Athletics.The Scottish Half Marathon is organised by the same team responsible for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. Individual runners can run the whole distance or teams of two can share the experience in the Duo Challenge.

The route is seriously flat & rapid – if you want to set a personal best for a half marathon, then this is the event for you. Starting conveniently at 11am just outside Edinburgh, you will run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse. Whether you’ve never run before, or you’re preparing for your 100th event, you can’t afford to miss out on what is going to be the ‘must-do’ running event. It’s fresh and it’s exciting – give it a go and set your challenge today!

Practicalities

Age Limit

17 years and over.

Aid Stations

Hydration Stations will be positioned approximately 5kms apart. Bottles of water and High5 energy gels will be available. Toilets will be available at all hydration stations.

Equipment Storage

Runners will be able to drop their baggage off at the baggage trucks at the start area and these will be transported to the finish area for you to pick up after you have finished your race.

Maximum Time

The Scottish Half Marathon will operate a strict maximum cut off time of 3 hours 15 minutes for all participants.
