Featuring views of Bellingham Bay, San Juan islands, and North Cascade mountains, we are often called the most beautiful marathon in the Pacific Northwest. Fantastic volunteer support, course entertainment, and finish festivities – including a Boundary Bay beer garden!
Beautiful point-to-point course starting on Lummi Nation and finishing in downtown Bellingham. Starting around sea level and flat for the first three miles, the race becomes hilly around miles 4 and 5, after which the course reaches its lowest point — near sea level — around miles 8 and 9, and then again as runners near the mile 11 marker. Run mostly along paved surfaces, the race also takes runners along city running and walking trails and features views of the nearby San Juan Islands and Mount Baker. Outdoor activity is a favorite pastime for residents across the city, whose natural beauty and topography accommodates running, hiking, paddling, canoeing, and cycling in all seasons.
