About Vadodara International Marathon

Vadodara Marathon was incepted in 2009 and is an independent Chapter-25 Non-Profit Company that undertakes the activity of conducting annual marathons in Vadodara.

VM is accredited to Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and BDAAA (Baroda District Amateur Athletics Association). It is the largest sporting event in Gujarat.

Each edition of VM attracts elite professional runners from all over the world and from India; along with citizens from cities and towns of Gujarat.

VM is committed to “Sports with Seva and Swachchata”, and supports local social and civic causes.

VM enthuses and encourages citizens to adopt a fitness oriented and healthy lifestyle.

Practicalities

Age Limit

Runners must be 18 years and older.

Maximum Time

6 hour cut off time for the full marathon and 5 hour cut off time for the half marathon.

Vadodara has an excellent golf course- "The Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club".

The world famous Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) is in Vadodara and has one of the largest campuses in Gujarat.

Travel to Sankheda near Vadodara to see the making of lovely lacquer coated furniture.

Travel to Champaner to be at a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and see the remains of medieval mosques and a medieval city whose architecture is special because it was Islamic buildings executed by Hindu and Jain workmen...a very unique style.

Visit the Fatehsingh museum, to view several Raja Ravi Verma originals- the royal family of Vadodara has a notable collection of his works.

Check out the Tribal Academy at Tejgarh, near Chota Udepur.
