The Trail Factor half marathon is a fun, challenging and well-supported race in Forest Park that includes beautiful trails and lots of friends and family.
The Trail Factor Half Marathon is a great opportunity for runners to experience the amazing trails of Forest Park. The race is almost exclusively run on beautiful single track trails through the heart of Forest Park with 1,920 ft of elevation gain. The race will support the Forest Park Conservancy.
Course highlights
This is not a flat half marathon – it is Forest Park after all! There is 1,920′ of gain. The course does include a variety of fantastic trails that will show you the beauty of the park. It’s developed by runners who have spent many hours running the trails.
The course starts and finishes at the Leif Erikson and Wild Cherry trails junction.
You’ll start up Wild Cherry and turn left onto Wildwood where you’ll run for almost two miles before turning up Holman Lane. After a three-quarter mile climb you’ll go right on 53rd to the Birch trail where you’ll descend back down to Wildwood. It’s back to Wild Cherry, where you’ll go up to the top and then back down to Wildwood via the Dogwood trail. Now you’ve get to stretch your legs all the way to Firelane 1. You’re over half way through! Now you get a half-mile plunge down Firelane 1 to Leif Erikson and a fast mile and a half down Leif to Alder trail. Then it’s back up you go, to Wildwood. You’re almost done. Turn up Dogwood and then back down Wild Cherry to the finish line.
