The Trail des Remparts offers a unique sporting experience in the historic heart of Carcassonne. Whether you run solo or as a team, take on one—or both—of our timed challenges: La Course des Douves (The Moat Run) and Le Défi des Remparts (The Rampart Challenge). Choose your adventure… or dare to conquer them both!
Run alone, with family, friends, or colleagues as you explore Carcassonne’s medieval citadel and its 13th-century ramparts from a whole new perspective.
After the race, enjoy a lively festival atmosphere at the Porte Narbonnaise entrance, featuring local vendors, live music, food stalls, and artisan displays. A full day of sport, history, and celebration awaits!

How does the race work?
This is an endurance race where you complete as many laps as possible in a given time: - Moat race (2h): run as many laps as possible in 2 hours. - Ramparts challenge (4h): same principle over 4 hours. No minimum number of laps is imposed; everyone manages their own effort freely.
How does the relay work?
- You can change runners whenever you want. - The relay zone is near the start/finish. - Only one runner in the race at a time.
Are there any activities and refreshments for the night race?
Yes, refreshment points will be available, and musical entertainment will accompany the runners throughout the race!
What is the terrain of the course?
The trail runs on different types of surfaces: - Dirt and gravel paths. - Sections on ramparts (concrete). - Stairs and uneven terrain.
Is the re a gift for finishers?
Yes, a surprise awaits each participant!
