Taking place at the majestic Island Hills Station, Solar Power NZ Skedaddle is one of the most well loved trail events on the calendar!
With nature at the heart of the event, all proceeds go towards conservation efforts for the Mandamus Reserve Charitable Trust which includes the largest QEII Open Space Covenant in Canterbury, New Zealand.
The race consists of five distances; 42km, 30km, 15km, 10km and a kids 4km. The courses are all point-to-point along stunning singletrack through the privately-owned Island Hills Station.
Aptly named after the highest point on the property, Mt Skedaddle (1704m), it’s time to take flight for nature!

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Pre- race registration will take place at Further Faster on Wednesday 22nd April 4.30pm - 7.00pm. On the day of the race from 5.30am in the Woolshed at Island Hills Station. Please note if you opt to complete your registration on the day, this will need to be completed 30 minutes prior to your race start time. For those arriving before sunrise we recommend you bring a head torch.
How do I get to the race location?
Island Hills Station is located 1 hour and 30 minutes north of Christchurch and only 20 minutes inland from the historic Hurunui Hotel. When travelling north along State Highway 7, take the first left after crossing the Hurunui River (signposted Balmoral Station Road). After approximately 7.5km, take a left on to Tekoa Road. What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Entry fees are non-refundable. If the event has to be cancelled or postponed due to reasons beyond the control of the event organisers (including a Force Majeure event, COVID-19, any other pandemic or due to government imposed restrictions), no refunds will be offered and all entries will be automatically deferred to the 2027 event. Athletes can transfer their race entry to someone else up until 8:00pm on the 21st April 2026. We do not offer transfers to future events, athletes can formally transfer their entry to someone else within the same distance event already entered. It is not possible to transfer your entry to someone else who is wanting to do a different distance event.
