Join Silesia Marathon
Occupying the whole of southwestern Poland, Silesia (Śląsk, pronounced ‘shlonsk’, in Polish), is a diverse collection of attractive cities, industrial centres and mountain scenery.
The rich history of the region underpins its charm, with architecture ranging from medieval fortresses to Baroque cathedrals. Silesia also contains the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp complex set up by Nazi Germany, now a grim but moving memorial.
With that being said, the Silesia Marathon is the place to be!!
Silesia Marathon is the only one in Poland and Europe leading the marathon through the streets of three cities: Katowice, Siemianowice Slaskie and Myslowice. Silesia Marathon is the largest running event in Silesia and at the same time one of the largest marathons in Poland.
Silesia Marathon is not only the main course on the distance of 42 km and 195 meters but also many racing accompanying. Since 2009, as part of the competition is organized half-marathon, competitions for children and youth. Route Silesia Marathon has an international certificate. It runs one of the largest associations of AIMS (Association of International marathon and Racing Street). Since the first edition of the tournament are played under the auspices of the Minister of Sport and Tourism.
