The Samarkand Marathon is an annual charity event held for 4 years in one of the oldest cities of Uzbekistan and the world, in the city of Samarkand, in order to attract public attention to the problem of inclusivity at cultural and art facilities, the development of sports tourism.
The marathon route passes through the key historical sites of Samarkand, which gives runners the opportunity to see the ancient and famous sights of the former capital of the empire of Tamerlane.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
The issuance of starter packages for participants will take place in Samarkand on November 4 and 5 from 10:00 to 20:00 (without a lunch break). The place of issue is the "Chorsu” Exhibition Gallery, next to the Registan Square. To receive the participant's package, 'you must present your passport and the participant's receipt. The receipt can be found here or filled out at the place of receipt of the package. *It is NOT possible to receive a participant's package.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
A friend or family member can pick it up for you using a power of attorney. He needs to present the following documents: « The passport of the authorized person in original. « A copy of the race participant's passport. * Receipt from a trustee: « The power of attoney does not entitle the authorized person to run the race with your number. The transfer of the number is prohibited by the rules of the competition. A competitor with someone else's number will be disqualified.
What is the cancelation/refund policy for this event?
No, your contribution is charitable. But you can take the participant’s starter package anyway, which includes a t-shirt and a bag.
