Join Run Ocean Isle Beach
Join us for the annual Run Ocean Isle Beach Half Marathon, 5K and 1 Mile road race. This race is a crowd favorite as half marathoners enjoy one of the most beautiful courses over the intercoastal bridge and across the entire island. 5Kers enjoy a flat route (not out and back!). The start/finish is on E. 2nd Street across from the Pelicans Perch restaurant and the Museum. We will host late packet pickup in the morning starting at 5:45 and the Half Marathon will get us kicked off at 7am. We will start the 5K just a little later at 8am at the same start/finish line and the 1 Mile Fun Run will head out around 8:15. Awards will be held for the 5K and 1 Mile racers at 9:15 in our after party area right next to the finish line. The half marathon awards will be held shortly after at 10:00 am and the half marathon cut-off time is 10:30.
If you are looking to set a new personal record this is your Half – FLAT and FAST! Although this wouldn’t be a beach run without a bridge so we are throwing that in at the beginning of the course! Absolutely breathtaking views from the top of the famed bridge you can see the entire island! So while you’re running fast don’t forget to enjoy the view!!!

The Days Inn in Shallotte is less than a 10 minutes drive. They are allowing a complimentary and automatic “Late Checkout” for all runners. They are also offering the best deal around. When you call, be sure to let them know that you are coming from the race and give them the promo code “RunCRP” – this will give you an additional 10% off! There are many great accommodations on and around the island. I would recommend contacting the local chamber of commerce.
We have no age restrictions however we do ask for parental signatures on all minors under 18 years of age.
There is ample parking around the start/finish line. Once you come over the bridge, you will see people directing you to a few lots available for parking. There is a large grassy lot next to the Museum for early birds. You can park at the Pier for free on race day morning and you can park on the side of the road (make sure your car is parallel to the road and all 4 tires are off of the road.
