About Oktoberfest Marathon

Welcome to the Oktoberfest Marathon, 1/2 Marathon and 5 - K, presented by i'move Physical Therapy. This event is measured, certified and sanctioned with USA Track and Field. The marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier. Old Boys Brewhouse, located in picturesque Spring Lake, Michigan is the venue for this established, well organized, scenic and family friendly event. Packet pick up and late registration take place in the Old Boys' parking lot on Friday and Saturday. In addition, all 3 events start and finish at Old Boys' parking lot. In addition to the "Main Event" on race day, there is also a 1 mile kid's run on Friday, near the conclusion of packet pick up. Old Boys' Brewhouse will be offering a pre-race pasta dinner, day before the race, during the race expo and packet pick up.

In addition to enjoying one of the most scenic courses in Michigan with all of the amenities, proceeds will support the Faith Marie Losee Foundation, a component of the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation. Funds raised by the Faith Marie Losee Foundation are used to purchase equipment and supplies for neo-natal departments at local hospitals. For additional information of this foundation, please click on the logo at the bottom of the page.

Practicalities

Maximum Time

The Marathon has a 6 hour time limit. If you're not able to complete a marathon in 6 hours, DON'T be discouraged. We are offering a special start time 1 hour early (7:15AM) for those that still want to participate in the marathon and meet our cutoff time.

Parking

During the Friday pre-race expo and Saturday race, we ask that you NOT park in the Old Boys Brewhouse parking lot. There is a lot of activity going on and we want to make sure the athletes, spectators and children remain safe. Thank you. We will post a page with available parking lots for you to park in.

Overview

The marathon and 1/2 marathon courses take runners on a scenic loop around Spring Lake. Participants will run primarily on the bike path while also taking a few local roads through a couple neighborhoods. The 5 - K course will keep runners in the Village of Spring Lake while offering views of Spring Lake. While the marathon and 1/2 marathon offer a few gentle rolling hills, the 5 - K course is flat and fast.
