Join North Downs Way 50
The North Downs Way 50 is a 50 mile Point to Point Run along the North Downs Way National Trail, from Farnham to Surrey to Knockholt Pound on the outskirts of Greater London. Now in its 7th year, the course remains unchanged, and reflects the first 50 miles of the North Downs Way 100.
80% of the course is on trail and around 20% on the road. If it is wet in the lead up to the race or on race weekend itself, some sections will become muddy and require due care and attention. Expect a mixture of road, pavement, soft woodland trail, mud, sand and more hard packed chalk trail. The scenery on the North Downs Way is phenomenal. There are individual sections particularly early on that show off some of the best of the English Countryside, however the extremely varied, sometimes difficult underfoot conditions as well as the number of sharp turns and short and steep climbs and descents make for slow going in places and push runners to lean on many different skillsets. Road running, crushed gravel, rocky trail and soft sand trail feature alongside smooth and rolling non-technical single/ double track running.
The race begins in Farnham at the western end of the North Downs, traveling past Puttenham and Guildford following the North Downs Way National Trail. The course then continues on to Ranmore Common before the steepest climb of the race up to the top of Box Hill. The trail then drops down the other side and back up to Reigate Hill, on through Merstham to Oxted and a further 8 miles to Knockholt Pound and the 50 mile finish.

There are plenty of options for accomodation in Farnham although no specific budget accommodation. In Farnham itself and within half a mile of the start point are The Bush Hotel and the Bishops Table Hotel. Just outside of Farnham in the neighbouring town of Aldershot, by far the cheapest option would be to stay at the Premier Inn.
After Race Services
Toilets, Showers, Male and Female Changing, Free Hot Food and Drinks (Runners only and includes vegetarian option).
There will be 6 fully stocked aid stations along the length of the course. Aid stations carry as a minimum: Water, Coke, Chocolate, Bananas, Jelly Babies, Nuts, Fruit, Gu Gels, Crisps and Sandwiches/ Wraps and other sweet/ savoury snacks. There will be hot food and drinks at the finish.
All finishers under the 13 hour cut off will receive a medal and finishers t-shirt. Male and Female Race winners will be awarded the Centurion Trophy, marking their achievement.
Each runner may leave one bag at registration to be transported to the finish only.
The best option for parking at the start is Farnham Station Car Park. There is some limited free parking in the roads surrounding the school. There will be no parking at the school itself as the gates will be locked after the race start. There is parking in the car park behind the village hall and in the roads surrounding the Common at Knockholt Pound for the finish.
In order to start the race, you must have completed a minimum of a marathon distance race within the cut off time between 1st January 2013 and the 2016 race date.
The shuttle bus will leave the finish at the conclusion of the race only: 2115 on Saturday. Cost is £10.35 plus a small fee levied by the registration company. The bus will make one stop only, back at the Race Registration Location.
