The Nepalgunj Marathon was founded in 2015 to commemorate the peace treaty that ended Nepal’s decade-long civil war, symbolizing resilience, unity, and progress. Organized through local collaboration, the race has grown into one of the country’s leading road running events, attracting athletes of all levels. Its mission goes beyond sport: the marathon promotes healthy lifestyles, strengthens community bonds, and highlights tourism in western Nepal. Over the past editions, it has developed into an international-level event, recognized for its organization and its role in uplifting sports culture in the region. Now firmly established, the Nepalgunj Marathon continues to expand, positioning itself as Nepal’s biggest road-running challenge and a platform where running meets cultural and social purpose.
