The Millennium Marathon is Accra’s premier international half marathon and a World Athletics ranking race. Established in 2015, this vibrant event celebrates its 10th anniversary of bringing runners from around the globe to Ghana’s bustling capital. Participants in the half marathon and 5 km race will enjoy a scenic course that starts at the iconic Freedom Arch and ends at the historic Black Star Square, showcasing Accra’s renowned landmarks like the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, National Theatre, and Jubilee House. The event is enriched by local drumming, dancing, and a kaleidoscope of race attire, making it both a competitive and cultural experience.

When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Collection of race packs starts from Monday, August to Friday, September, at the Accra Sports stadium. We recommend that you pick up early to avoid queues. If you can’t pick it up and want someone to pick it up on your behalf, they will need the following; i. A copy of your national ID ii. Proof of registration
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
Non-refundable.
Will accommodation be provided for runners outside Accra?
No. However, elite runners can call the office line for assistance on accommodation.
What should I consume during the marathon?
Exactly what you should consume in the marathon depends on what your stomach can handle, but you definitely want to make sure you consume enough carbohydrate to delay glycogen depletion and hypoglycemia and enough fluid to delay dehydration.
