Marcona Wind Trail, an ultra marathon that takes place in the Peruvian desert and that has been exceeding the expectations of all those involved in this great event year after year. On Sunday, December 6th, 2026, athletes from all over the world will participate in this great sporting event in San Juan de Marcona, where Desert and Sea come together, in one of the most anticipated competitions of the Trail circuit in Peru and Latin America.
Marcona Wind Trail represents one of the most extraordinary routes on the Latin American coast, where runners test their skills in the only race in the world that combines beautiful cliffs, calm beaches and an impressive forest of stone figures above sea level, where a perfect elephant stands, static, facing the ocean.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Kit collection will take place in Lima on November 20th and 21st. The location and time for kit collection will be announced later. No kits will be distributed on race day, under any circumstances.
Can someone collect my race pack for me?
Yes, with a single authorization letter and a copy of your ID or Passport
How do I get to the race location?
There are buses that go from Lima to Marcona Daily, you can go by car also. Buses usually travel by night, departing from Lima around 9:00 pm and arriving Marcona around 6:00 am. Can I change the distance after I purchase a ticket?
Changes between distances are only allowed until the registration closing date.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
In case a competitor withdraws, there will only be a refund if the notification to the organization is made no later than the day the registration ends. Said refund will have a 20% penalty for administrative procedures.
Mandatory Equipment
For the 100k, 65k, 42k, 35k, and 21k distances, the use of a hydration system (hydration pack, hydration belt, or hydration bottle) is mandatory, as the organizers will not provide disposable cups at the hydration stations. Failure to comply with this requirement will prevent participation in the race and result in the runner's disqualification. Runners in the 100K, 65K, and 35K distances must wear a functional headlamp with charged batteries. Failure to do so under the conditions described will result in disqualification.
What kind of weather will we have at Marcona Wind Trail?
The weather in the area is quite changeable, so you may experience heavy fog as well as intense sun. Consider packing everything you need for conditions both in your hydration pack.
What should I be careful about in this race?
The greatest risk of improper running technique in this race is suffering from heatstroke, dehydration, and hypoglycemia. Consider preventing these three problems through proper training that adapts you to this type of terrain and teaches your body how to regulate its temperature more efficiently.
What kind of clothing should I wear? Long or short clothes?
It depends on what makes you feel most comfortable, your tolerance to heat or sun. If the sun bothers you a lot, it's recommended to wear long clothing. If, on the other hand, you're more bothered by the heat, it's preferable to wear short, cool clothing, always remembering to use sunscreen even when it's not brightly sunny.
Can I bring a companion on the tour?
Yes, but you must be properly registered as a competitor. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification.
What should I do if I no longer wish to compete at some point in the race?
You must inform a member of the organization that you will find along the route and wait for your safe evacuation.
