About Marakele Marathon 

SANParks and the Marakele National Park are proud to host the 10th annual Marakele Marathon on 2 March 2019. The race starts and finishes at the Marakele National Park main gate and is an official Comrades marathon and 2 Oceans marathon qualifying race. The route will lead runners on an adventure through the park which is habitat to all of the Big 5 as well as the second largest (800 breeding pairs) Cape Vulture colony in the world. Marakele rangers and SANParks Honorary rangers will be present along the route to keep runners safe at all times. Enter online for the 42km / 21km / 10km or 5km fun run distances. Proudly organized by the Thabazimbi Marathon Club and the SANParks Honorary Rangers!
