About Manchester Half Marathon

THE FLATTEST, FASTEST AND FRIENDLIEST HALF MARATHON! 

A superfast course, great entertainment, outstanding crowd support and glorious finish at Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire Cricket Club, plus a medal and a technical t-shirt for all finishers!

To give you an idea of how fast this course is, 74% of the first 50 finishers ran a personal best or a season best. 56% of the top 250 ran a PB or SB. This is your half marathon to literally smash it!

Practicalities

Age Limit

The Manchester Half Marathon is open to all entrants over the age of 17 on race day.

Aid Stations

There will be water stations at miles 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11 and HIGH5 Gels will be available at approximately mile 5.6 & 8.9.

Award Medals

All runners who finish the race within 4 hours will receive a medal after crossing the finish line.

Equipment Storage

There will be a baggage area to store your kit. This will be located in the Athletes Village at Emirates Old Trafford. Please do not leave anything valuable or fragile in your bag - if you have car keys, credit cards etc… We recommend that you run with these in a bum bag, running belt or similar.

Maximum Time

The roads will re-open to vehicular traffic on a rolling basis at an approximate pace of 13 minutes 45 seconds per mile – 3-hour pace. If you are running slower than this pace, when directed to do so, you will need to run on the pavements and run as a pedestrian obeying all signals and the Highway Code. The finish line will close 4 hours after the start of the race. Any finishers after this time will not receive an official finisher’s time.

Timing

We will be using state-of-the-art UHF chip timing technology to ensure that you get an accurate finishing time.

Overview

The race begins under the arch at White City Way on the A56 heading up Bridgewater Way before doubling back on itself and heading into Trafford.

The route continues southwards towards Sale before leading back into Trafford.

The finish line is at Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire Cricket Club.
