Join Liberia Marathon
The Liberia Marathon is Liberia's only official long-distance road race. It is an extraordinary civic event, reflecting the endurance Liberians have shown over the years and the country’s successful efforts towards development.
It provides a unique chance for Liberian and international athletes to participate in a competitive running event of global standard.
The Liberia Marathon 2022 will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022.
It will include for the first time three distances - a full marathon (42.2k), a half marathon (21.1k) and the famous 10k races, of course also for athletes in wheelchairs / crutches. With anticipated 2,000 participants, it would become the largest road-running event Liberia has seen so far.
Promoting access to running for all Liberians, the race will offer affordable, safe and secured participation for both abled and disabled runners, for the youth and not-so young anymore, for female and male athletes, elite runners and amateurs.
We are looking forwards to welcome runners from all over the world at the starting line in Monrovia.
The marathon is being organized by the Liberia Marathon Trust, an independent Liberian non-profit organization.
Our Vision:
Institutionalising road-running as important part of the Liberian professional and recreational sports sphere in line with the Sports for Development Agenda
Our Mission:
Providing road-running outlets and events on international standards for Liberian professional athletes and the general public, creating development linkages through sports and promoting Liberian long-distance talent.
