21K Race Description
The race starts from the Small Theater of Epidaurus where the athletes must have gathered at least 45′ before the start. At the begging, the route is dirt since we are in an archaeological site. The terrain then alternates between cobblestones and asphalt. The athletes pass through the port of Epidaurus, through the village and then head towards Lygourio. At the 8.5 km, a trail uphill path (trail) begins with duration of about 2.5 km. After the end of the path, the athletes run for about 2.5km on asphalt, before continuing for a 1km on a trail path towards the village of Lygourio. Following the signs, the athletes run on the cobblestones of Lygouri, in front of the main square and through the main road towards the finish line. Before reaching the archaeological site of the theater of Epidaurus, the athletes turn left to follow the dirt road that leads to the Ancient Stadium of Asclepius of Epidaurus – finish line.
