The Elba Legend Run is an extraordinary trail running event that showcases the natural beauty and rich heritage of Elba Island. Taking place in October—when the island is bathed in mild weather and vibrant Mediterranean hues—this event offers something for every level of trail runner. Participants can choose between three competitive distances (60 km, 25 km, 13 km) or a non-competitive route, each highlighting unique aspects of Elba’s breathtaking landscapes. From the famous Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE) trail to hidden beaches and historic mining settlements, this race is a journey through the island’s most enchanting and lesser-known corners.
Course details
From the sea to the Mines to the conquest of the Volterraio Castle, a breathtaking route! In fact, it runs on a part of the legendary GTE route with spectacular views of the entire Island of Elba. A route that allows you to appreciate all the variety of landscapes that this island can offer. We set off to discover the eastern side on an itinerary that connects the two mining sites on the island, Capoliveri and Rio, with their evocative lunar landscapes.
25km
A circular route on the Capoliveri promontory and on the routes of the famous Legend Cup. Unique views of the sea, mining sites and sun-kissed vineyards.
13km
A straight route starting from the Mining Museum, on the Capoliveri promontory, and arriving in the town.

Frequently asked questions
When and where can I collect my BIB/race pack?
Bib collection operations will take place in Piazza Matteotti in Capoliveri from 10.00 to 19.00 on October 4, 2025 for all distances. For the 13km and 25km distances only, it will be possible to collect the bib also on Sunday from 7.00 to 8.30. To collect the race bib, it is mandatory to show a valid identity document . It is possible to collect the race bib and pack of another person provided that they have a written authorization and a copy of the identification document of the delegating person.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this event?
In the event of subsequent inability to participate, no refunds of the registration fee paid will be provided. However, the athlete unable to participate in the race will be offered 2 alternatives by 20 September 2025. 1. Transfer to the 2026 edition (€15.00 for administrative fees) 2. Transfer to another person (€15.00 for administrative fees)
Do I need a Runcard?
To participate in competitive races, athletes without FIDAL licence have to purchase a Runcard.
Do I need a medical certificate?
To participate in competitive races, a medical certification stamped and signed by a doctor is mandatory.
