Join Grand Bahama Dog Days Half Marathon

After years of playing second banana to bigger, more glamorous Nassau, Grand Bahama is finally coming into its own. If you’re looking for a laid-back, affordable getaway with a minimum of fuss, this is your place. The streets of Freeport, its main city, and Lucaya are clean and calm. Its golden beaches and aquamarine waters are rarely overcrowded, even in high season. All the amenities of a perfect vacation – dive shops, restaurants, pubs, boutiques – are at your fingertips within a few-block radius. No wonder Grand Bahama has become so popular with cruise-ship tourists and families on quick weekend breaks.

Outside the city, the 85-mile-long island is an unexplored playground of mangrove swamps, sea caves and sandy cays. There’s world-class diving and snorkeling, great kayaking and bonefishing. All this just a hop, skip and 55-mile jump from the US.

With that being said, the Dog Days Half Marathon is the place to be!!

So it is with great pleasure that we announce the Annual Dog Days Half Marathon! in March, runners can take to the roads of Grand Bahama in their choice of the half marathon, a 10K race, 5K, and a fun one mile run/walk. All races have numerous water stations set up throughout the course and an EMR available. Each race is chip timed so your records will be safe. An Awards ceremony will be held after the races at our awesome host location, Bahamas Adventures. Enjoy a great afternoon of drinks, food and water fun. Our Health Expo will again be on site in which local vendors will be offering information regarding their services & healthy all natural fruits and shakes will also be available. We invite adults, kids and dogs to come out and support this great event.

Stay and relax at the event headquarters, Bahamas Adventures for the award ceremony. Bring your family to enjoy great food, drinks and all water sports activities at no costs. Bahamas Adventures will be donating a portion of the day’s sales towards the Grand Bahama Humane Society.
